While perusing the aisles at HomePlus in Cheonan, out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of Purely Decadent ice cream in the freezer section, and did a complete double-take. Woahh~ Vegan ice cream in a major Korean supermarket? That’s huge! I’ve been to a couple of the Purely Decadent cafe/store locations in Seoul, but this was the first time actually seeing it in a supermarket. Progress is being made!
The price for 1 pint of Purely Decadent is 9,800 won. Yes, it’s expensive and I’m not even a big ice cream fan, but c’mon~ if you find vegan ice cream in a Korean supermarket, you can’t not buy it. Now if only E-Mart can get with the program too… (The 16,500 price is for a 2-pint tub of Häagen-Dazs, incase you’re wondering.)

Purely Decadent cafes in Seoul? That's amazing! I wish they'd open some of those back here in the States!

I can't believe that's the first time you made a lattice crust – it looks perfect!
This is my first time at your blog. I really, really dig the 101 list of things to do in 2009…I think I might do something similar in 2010. :)

hi~ love your blog. as a fellow vegan in seoul, i appreciate all the information you've shared with me.
and (OMG!) emart has purely decadent ice cream AND it's less expensive (i think) than homeplus. i bought it in a fury, so i can't be sure. anyway, i don't like ice cream either, but, of course, i bought it. and i'm going to eat the vanilla with sauteed persimmons^^
also, found that vegan ramian at emart too.
anyway, you make seoul an even better place than it already is!
