What! It’s Vegan MoFo already! Every time MoFo comes around, I have all these grand plans to post every day and then I’m lucky if I can manage to post once or twice a week. pathetic! But yea…. no guarantees this time, but I shall do my best to post a little more frequently. I’m also happy that this year’s MoFo is in September, rather than the usual October because after several years of participating, I always end up blogging about the same thing every year… halloween, chuseok, etc etc. I do have a bunch of things to blog about, but it’s just a matter of finding the time. Anyhooo~~
To kick of this year’s MoFo, here are some random eats… very unceremonious, sorry.
Right now the season is in this in-between stage where it’s the last days of Summer fruit, and the fall fruits are just starting to coming out. I’m trying to get my fill of nectarines, melons, and kiwi, but also suuuper excited for persimmon season!! Y’all know how obsessed I am with persimmons, rah? Yea, don’t even get me started. :)
Corn cherry scones, adapted from this recipe. I’m in love with these lately~ You wouldn’t think that corn and cherries would pair so well, but they are like kindred spirits coming together to make awesomeness.
PLANT has been getting some publicity~! This is from CookAnd magazine this month, and I’m also going to be included in the next month’s issue, because they’re doing a special feature on some vegan people in Seoul. I’m always a bit hesitant about myself being in magazines, but I’m also glad that more people will hear about the veg lifestyle.
And then if you’ll remember, the peeps from Maison Marie Claire magazine came by for a recipe photoshoot. I got two cookie recipes printed in this month’s issue and they sent a copy to the shop. Mini ginger cookies and chocolate almond cookies.
I made these piggy cupcakes for a friend’s birthday party. Apparently ever since she was little, her birthday cake has been pig-themed, so I’m glad I was able to help continue the tradition. I used Dandies marshmallows for the noses (ordered from iHerb), and chocolate chips for the eyes, and roasted almonds for the ears. They turned out better than I expected.
Here’s a left over piggy cupcake for sale at Botton’s most recent Market Day~ I couldn’t prepare as much stuff this time as before because I also have the shop at Plant to bake for, but I was able to bring some cupcakes and cookies for the event. Thankful to everyone who came by and bought some goodies!
I love hearing feedback from you guys! Feel free to leave a comment by clicking here~~ :)
